What is the exact differance between the ADHD chiled, and a very active normal chiled?
Answer:
The physician diagnosing is the main difference in many cases. ADHD is very difficult to accurately diagnose. It has been suggested that we have begun to over diagnose this disorder in leui of disciplining and engaging our children. The true ADHD child will have difficulty focussing on simple tasks for even short periods of time.
An ADHD child hs problems with focus on one thing at a time. Attention span is very short.
my son has ADHD - and his attention span was not real long -especially in school - he struggled all the way thru - or if it something doesnt interest him - but if it is something he likes - video games, legos, etc ... they can sit there for hours on end.
In my opinion - one of the worst traits of ADHD is the impulsiveness - Where as most will think about what they do before they do it. but a child with ADHD will do something first - then think about what they did after the fact. This is why most of these kids get into trouble - or fall into the wrong crowds.
My son - who is 20 now - was not a bad kid - he actually has a heart of gold - but he did make a lot of wrong decisions that he came to regret soon after. Nothing serious - Thank goodness - but i worry about him more than i do my other 2.
The worst part is for the kid - they just don't realize or understand why they do half the stuff they do and people and teachers just pass them off as "bad kids" when that is really no the case. Even as a mother - it took me a while to understand it myself.
