What is the safe lifespan of an electrical fan. Are the old fans ie. fans used in factories?

as big as say one of those old tv sets legal. Could they be sending out piles of dust etc.
Answer:
I used to work somewhere very hot the big fans we had were hired. The hire company would come in and service them.
Sometimes they would blow dust when they were turn on early in the day
I would think a new fan would blow as much dust around as an old one, the dirt in the air that goes into the blades is the same as what is going to come out the front of the blades either way. I have used lots of old fans in my day, and I don't know of any reason to stop using one until it just quits and won't run anymore. I mean, what's the worse that can happen? (The exception is old electrical wiring - I would stop using a fan that has a frayed cord or if you see any sparks in the motor.)
