What is the medical name for eye boogers?

What do you call the junk that's in your eye when you wake up?
Answer:
The word you're looking for is rheum. And if there's pus in it, for example due to a bacterial infection, it is called mucopurulent discharge.
I've grown up calling it "sleep"
CA-CA, because it is grosser than boogers and because of my allergies, I cannot see anything until about NOON when my prescription kicks in for the day!
